SUMMARY:
The Middle School Math Teacher provides instruction in math to middle and high school students, using teaching techniques aligned with Common Core State Standards and school-established learning objectives. This educator fosters a culturally responsive, student-centered learning environment, tailored to meet the diverse needs of Native American students.

 

ABOUT CHIEF LESCHI SCHOOLS:
Formerly known as the Puyallup Tribal School, Chief Leschi Schools was founded in 1976 to address the high dropout rate among Puyallup tribal youth. It is the largest of seven tribal schools in Washington State and one of over 200 tribal schools across the United States. It is also one of the largest tribal schools funded by the Bureau of Indian Education.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, frequently reach with arms and hands, and regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds, using a two-person or mechanical lift as needed). Frequent bending, kneeling, and fine motor manipulation required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily indoors in a classroom setting. Occasional exposure to visual displays. Noise level is generally moderate.
